2011 Cupcake of the Year!
29 Dec

In mid-December, I decided to have my official taste testers and Cupcake Friday Project Facebook fans help me select my 2011 Cupcake of the Year. First, my taste testers help me narrow down the field from 20+ cupcakes to the following five:
- Caramel Cupcake with Salted Caramel Buttercream
- Cherry Limeade Cupcake
- Chocolate Framboise Cupcake
- Spice Cupcake with Pumpkin Mousse Filling and Vanilla Buttercream (a blend of my Autumn Spice Cupcake and my Pumpkin Cupcake)
- Peppermint Mocha Cupcake
Then the voting was opened up to taste testers and fans alike, and we had a definite winner: Caramel Cupcake with Salted Caramel Buttercream with 19 points!
The Spice Cupcakes came in second with 11 points; Peppermint Mocha Cupcakes with 8 points; Chocolate Framboise Cupcakes with 7 points; and Cherry Limeade Cupcakes with 4 points.
I’m not too surprised with the results—in the past 10 months I have baked the caramel cupcakes 5 times! It’s been requested for graduation parties and bridal showers, and I included it in my swap box for the Philly Winter Food Swap.
So here’s to 2011. I’m 11 months into CFP and still going strong. I can’t wait to share my recipe ideas for 2012 with all of you!

Thank you for all you hard work with the cupcakes this year!
Looking forward to 2012
Mmmmm, these are as delicious as when you first introduced them ealry in 2011. All of the flavors came right back to me. These may be the finest cupcakes on the planet of earth.
Thanks very much for all of your cupcaking this year, your testers enjoyed them. We hope this leads to a Cupcake Friday store front sooner rather than later.
Yep, just as satisfying and delectable as the other handful of times I’ve enjoyed these cupcakes. Goodness, I love these. And I love Cupcake Friday! Can I add “taste tester” to my resume? …Hmmm.
